The whole staff was exceptional. Bill Huntington has been an extraordinary leader--so respectful of all the different styles of people that came to the workshop. He is very clear and patient. I"ve been wanting to do a knitting retreat for six years when I first fell in love with knitting. Thank you for such a wonderful week.

New England Fiber Arts Retreat
JULY 28- AUGUST 3, 2013
REGISTRATION IS OPEN
Come join us for a week of fiber-filled fun in beautiful mid-coast Maine. Whether you knit, crochet, spin, felt, dye, or weave, or if you've always wanted to learn how, this is the place for you! Enjoy the company of fellow fiber enthusiasts while you spin by the fireplace or knit in rocking chairs on the porch of our lodge. Work on a community weaving project throughout the week. Collect natural dyestuffs around camp and dye your own yarn and fiber. Most of all, relax!

FIBERY FIELD TRIPS
In addition to classes & workshops, we will be taking field trips to these local farms, and studios...
We will also be visiting Katharine Cobey, a world renowned fiber artist, at her studio in Cushing, Maine. Listen as she describes her experiences and shares techniques she uses to create her one of a kind pieces.
New this year, we'll be visiting Black Locust Farm, a cashmere goat farm in Washington, Maine. Owners Yvonne and Lance Taylor will give us a tour of their farm and we'll meet some super soft fiber producers!
Also new this year, we will be visiting Swan's Island in Northport, Maine for a tour of their studios and showroom. We'll walk through their dye house to see how their skeins are naturally dyed as well as how their dyed yarns are woven into organic wool, heirloom blankets!
Hosted at our Retreat Center, Medomak's guests enjoy beautiful pine and oak woods, a sparkling clear lake just down the hill, fields of ripe blueberries, and simple, rustic, yet comfortable cabins complete with full bath. Start your day off with an energizing yoga class or a morning walk. You may also choose to have a relaxing afternoon massage by our licensed masseuse! The learning spaces vary from rooms in our historic lodge, to an outdoor amphitheater; from rocking chairs on our porch to seating around an outdoor campfire. Meals that will be dreamt about for months are served family-style in our dining hall or outside at picnic tables on the front lawn. Our aim is to make you feel at home.
